Peter Marotta, Enterprise Data Administrator, led Verisk Analytics’ enterprise data management (EDM) activities which are focused on documenting data assets, exploring new methods for acquiring new and different data, supporting operating unit plans, and defining Verisk’s enterprise data strategies. EDM accomplishments include – • Verisk Intellectual Property Knowledgebase (V IP K) - Created and maintained a centralized repository of information about Verisk’s intellectual property, with an emphasis on data assets (from over 200 sources) and a process for disseminating this information to interested parties• Supported cross-enterprise business intelligence and collaboration, via the V IP K, various Communities of Interest and other mechanisms• Supported the creation of new information and products from available data (R & D around data), the acquisition of new data and data sources, and exploration of new methods of collecting data• Defined the Joint Development Environment (JDE) data management processes• Created and maintained all JDE metadata using the V IP K as a base• Led the JDE prototyping team – identifying potential research projects, conducting research, design and development of prototypes and presentation of results Prior to his current assignment, Pete headed Insurance Services Office’s Data Management Consulting practice, as Principal and Assistant Vice President, where he was responsible for coordinating data management consulting activities throughout ISO (a predecessor to and now operating unit of Verisk Analytics).
