- Led the College Access Program at Paint Branch High School, serving about 250 seniors and juniors each year- Managed two staff members, coaching them on techniques to best support our students and to foster their professional growth- Provided direct support to students and families with completing and/or reviewing college lists, college applications, essays, testing plans, financial aid applications, scholarship applications, financial aid award packages, etc. via workshops, info sessions, and individual meetings- Developed individual student plans based on stated future goals and conducted outreach to ensure students are meeting deadlines and receiving timely information about college- Coordinated with school staff (counselors, College & Career Coordinator, principal and asst. principals) to ensure students are receiving consistent information and support

- Instructed 75 5th-8th grade students as the lead teacher in the classroom- Wrote and vetted four different history curricula for the 5th-8th grades using a project-based learning framework. Each curriculum integrateed Common Core and C3 standards into authentic projects that result in live student presentations- Collaborated with teachers of all other subjects, including special ed and intervention specialists to create, implement, and evaluate cross-curricular projects- Mentored a team of 7th graders participating in Model UN, preparing them for participation in a city-wide conference

- Instructed ~90 6th grade students per year as the lead teacher in the classroom - Wrote and vetted the 6th grade geography curriculum using a concept-based framework for the entire Cesar Chavez Public Charter School system - Co-taught geography lessons with an ELL teacher and worked collaboratively with teachers of all other subjects, including special ed - Designed and implemented quarterly advocacy projects including an annual trip to lobby local issues at the Council of DC office - Facilitated an ongoing relationship between Chavez Prep and City Kids Wilderness Project to recommend several students per year for a summer camp in Wyoming and acted as a camp volunteer during summer months
