Peter Matthews is CEO of Global Reinsurance Consultants Ltd (‘GRC’) and also formerly GBS Insurance Services ('GBS') prior to its successful merger with Sutton Winson Insurance Brokers in December 2023. Peter formed GRC back in 1999, to provide specialist legacy, claims, and run-off services to the global reinsurance market. GRC is primarily involved in the complex field of worldwide reinsurance collections and commutations. In 2009 GBS was launched to assist companies with their commercial insurance needs no matter how big or small. Prior to setting up his own firms, Peter had over 15 years’ experience in insurance with Lloyd’s brokers, including Golding Stewart Wrightson and Bain Clarkson, together with specialist Consultancy firms. Peter is a practising member of the Insurance Institute of London (IIL) and a Chartered Insurer, having gained a number of distinctions in his ACII examinations. In the Practice of Reinsurance CII exam, Peter gained the highest marks in the country for the module that year. Peter frequently travels globally on behalf of GRC’s extensive worldwide client base, attends major international insurance and legacy business conferences and speaks on global run-off and commutation matters.GRC is celebrating 25 years of service and excellence on 22nd November 2024.
