I am working on the A96 Park and Choose (£15mill) project in Aberdeen. Lagan are the Principal contractor overseeing the construction of a large car parking area and approximately 1km of highway.My main roles include. Setting out, levelling and surveying the site. Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations. Agreeing a price for materials, and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project. Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client. Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.

I was placed within one of the project team’s at DOF Subsea during the construction phase of a subsea flowline installation project. During my short time with the company I was exposed to the mobilisation of a construction support vessel for flowline lay and pre-commissioning operations. I also completed my MSc dissertation on ‘Flowline Initiation Challenges’ with DOF Subsea.My main roles included: Aiding procurement of rigging equipment, inspection of rigging and container packing for vessel mobilisation, compiling rigging certification pack, improving traceability of rigging and supporting the team of project engineer’s.

TRANT are a Civil Engineering contractor operating in Fawley Oil Refinery, Southampton. Exxon Mobil operate the Refinery.My main responsibilities included: setting out - piled foundations, large concrete bases, fire suppression systems & drainage systems. Communicating with Exxon field engineers & rectifying problems on site. Other responsibilities I held included: supervision, witness testing, surveying, document control & quantifying materials.
