Peter has been with Henry J Lyons Architects since he graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 1996 with First Class Honours and the DIT Gold Medal for Academic Excellence. Peter is an award winning design architect who has completed a significant number and variety of projects across a wide range of building types and scales. His work demonstrates a proven ability to understand and interpret complex briefs and to deliver innovative and cost effective design solutions. He has successfully delivered buildings under a range of procurement types including the Central Bank of Ireland HQ, 26 York Street for the RCSI , 14-18 City Quay and the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin. He also has significant experience in the higher education sector , commercial sector and in Public Private Partnerships having led design teams on a number of winning bids.Peter’s role as a design director with the practice involves ensuring that the architectural output of the studio consistently addresses key issues and develops projects to their full potential. Peter believes in an Architecture of Response and Responsibility. The pursuit of excellence in design and building performance when informed by a clear understanding of client needs and aspirations and coupled with an overall sense of responsibility to the environment, results in an architecture which responds creatively to contemporary social, cultural, economic and environmental factors.Central to this ethos lies the belief that each project is an expression appropriate to its time and its environment, and is ultimately a manifestation and honest expression of the people, the institutions and the community it serves.The Practice is committed to creating an architecture which is informed by its context, is functional and practical, imaginative and innovative, resulting in unique and bespoke solutions to each problem addressed.
