Peter McHugh has over 30 years’ experience in the software and technology sector as an entrepreneur, senior executive, non-exec director, business consultant, published author and venture capitalist. In terms of technology start-ups, he has been there and done it: fund-raising, channel partnering, executive hiring, international exporting, product development, sales & marketing, business planning. Peter sold Covalent Software (which he founded in 2003) to Ideagen in August 2016. Peter worked in the IT sector for over 30 years. For 10 years he ran a consulting business specialising in software growth and marketing strategies, and published his first book, Making it Big in Software, in July 1999. Peter was Business Development Director for Consilium before starting Covalent. He has a BEng in Chemical Engineering and in 2006 won the National Business Awards, Software Entrepreneur of the Year, South West.
