At Portofino Bakery, I was primarily responsible for planning and overseeing manufacturing operations, logistics, procurement, production inventory monitoring, and equipment and facility maintenance with a sustained focus on the implementation of new, effective techniques to maximize productivity and efficiency. I also identified and implemented continuous improvement solutions such as new process flows, equipment removals, and product discontinuations, enabling steady sales growth of major SKUs, including 100% growth for Artisan loafs to 18.5k daily. I was proudly selected by company leaders to oversee multiple sites concurrently after repeated failures to identify and recruit suitable Plant Managers, all while travelling across the country for 8 months to provide expertise in support of the hiring process to successfully fill the roles. Furthermore, after inheriting a disorganized plant that was on the brink of closing for losing its only client who threatened to leave if one more error was committed, I honed several processes and fixed the organizational culture to deliver stellar results and become the client’s go-to plant. Throughout my tenure at Sons Bakery, I significantly reduced employee turnover and developed a cohesive team which continues to deliver record profits since 2018. ✶ Gained senior leadership’s trust to become the only Plant Manager to interact directly with McDonald’s, the Canadian division’s only client.✶ Developed, implemented, and monitored adherence to robust protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. ✶ Prepared data-driven budgets and managed production, creating well-defined plans to enable a smooth running of operations.✶ Recruited, onboarded, and trained qualified staff, planned production schedules, and established ambitious productivity goals. ✶ Leveraged data to minimize inefficiencies and waste and implemented various strategies to cost-effectively meet production targets.
