I am the Team Leader of the Kaizen Group in the press/stamping department.We are responsible for line orders, completing work orders and other activities.I have adopted a role to help improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost on all lines in the shop.Our activities change daily but safety, quality, production, 5S are always important.I am the Press Shops Joint Health and Safety representative and have been on the Press Health and Safety Committee for 3 years now. I bring up safety related issue to management that I see or other team members bring up to me.I was key contributor in the Press shop successfully completing the ISO 9001 for Quality Management. I was asked to help get the shop up to standard, which involved controlling documents, creating new documents and standards as well as addressing any issues that were brought up during the trail audits I had organized.I have taken what I have learned over the last 12+ years and am now applying that knowledge to other lines and new TM's. Mentoring has now become an even bigger part of my job as new team members look to me for answers and advice.

I am the Team Leader of a group of 11 team members on an A class press line.Our focus is on productivity, safety and quality.We are always looking to run better while producing quality parts in the safest manner. We also look for activities to reduced cost.Some projects we are: Improving the SPM (strokes per minuet) of our parts. At certain speeds handling and quality can become an issue. We need to watch the panel as it moves from die to die. We need to make sure the panels aren't being hit to hard or defects can occur.To reduce cost and scrap we looked at ways to save quality checksBy the end of the year we had made some great progress and got he line running better than it has been in years while making quality parts at the same time. We reduced panel scrap by shipping quality checks.

I am the Team Leader of a group of 5 team members. It is our job to operate a C class press. We trouble shoot the line are are in charge of quality on the parts we make. We are in charge of blank conveyance stamped and raw blanks. We are responsible for the wrapping of blanks and there timing arrival at the shipping station for off site plants.My role as Team Leader is to manage my team of 5. Make improvements to the line ie: run better, eliminate down time, check for quality in produced stock when need using kiazen and the TPS. Maintain a good relationship with my maintenance support. I am a key trainer for my line and kind of a "go to guy". I supervise all my trouble shooters and provide assistance to them when needed.I am certified on multiple over head cranes, several different size fork lifts and can trouble shoot/operate several different presses in the shop.

I was a key trainer on an A class line. I was responsible for training new team members to the line on all jobs. Fork lift, crane, quality gates and trouble shooting. I looked for ways to improve my processes and those of the others I worked along side with.I am trained on several different size fork lifts and multiple different over head cranes. I covered vacation for other team members and learn how to operate several different presses over my time thus far at TMMC.
