Peter McMenamin is a member of Assist First Aid’s Senior Management Team and Manager for the Gold Coast region, responsible for providing event first aid services for sporting and community events, as well as first aid training to government, community and commercial organisations. A diploma qualified Paramedic with multiple first aid, sports training and coaching qualifications, Peter joined Assist FA in 2013 and now manages a team of more than 20 experienced First Aid Responders, to deliver the highest levels of professional medical coverage and injury management. Peter graduated from the Australian Paramedical College in 2017 with a Diploma of Paramedical Science and completed a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment from Inspire Education in 2015. He holds a current Blue Card from the Department of Justice (QLD). Before joining the emergency medicine field, Peter was a teacher for 16 years, graduating from University of Canberra in 1989 with a Bachelor of Education majoring in physical education. He worked at Maribyrnong Secondary College, Melbourne for eight years where he held various leadership positions including Year 9 Coordinator, Faculty Coordinator - Health & Physical Education, Sports Coordinator and Curriculum Committee Member. Peter played professional Australian football in the ACTAFL and VFA - the former Victorian Football League (VFL), and A Grade Basketball. Peter continued his education career in Sydney in 1998 where he attained a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (IT) from the University of Technology while employed at Trinity College, Auburn and De La Salle College Ashfield, as Year 9 Coordinator and a Health & Physical Education teacher.He is married with two children and has enjoyed a lifetime of sport including Australian football, swimming, golf and darts. Peter loves traveling with his family.
