Within the Business Information Solutions section, my team is responsible for a wide range of functions concerning recognising the subdivision of land, issuing the s10.7 planning certificates and the administration and management of the Geographical Information System. In this role, I have demonstrated the capacity to rapidly develop the required skills to operate at a high level, responding to and initiating change that resulted in substantial improvements to the efficiency and accuracy for the team’s work.

This position overall responsibility for the development of the GIS and Asset Systems of Council, particularly in the light of the recent amalgamation with a neighbouring Council. The first major challenge was combining the two Council's asset inventory and financial information. As part of this work, I was involved in training and system improvement workshops which laid the foundation for scheduled redevelopment of the system.As part of the IP&R processes, I drafted Council’s Strategic Asset Management Plan 2018 - 2028, which was aligned to ISO55000 requirements and facilitated the formulation of the Asset Management Policy. I developed these documents in close reference to both the International Standard and the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM). As result, I developed experience in the interpretation and application of these key industry standard.

In June 2016, I was appointed to a temporary position to provide continuity and drive improvements to the former Tumbarumba Shire Council’s Roads Maintenance Council Contract (RMCC) delivery. This position required me to rapidly develop RMS process comprehension and work with new colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure effective and professional operation of the works conducted through the Tumbarumba Office.Throughout this time, I demonstrated a very thorough understanding of RMCC requirements, presenting a credible and professional approach in my dealings with Roads and Maritime (RMS). I developed a respectful and cohesive relationship with a variety of key stakeholders. I also conducted all financial management for the RMS contracted routine and ordered works, producing key financial reports and submitting payment claims. The total value of works which I was directly responsible for adminstering was approximately $5 million.I also collaborated in the technical development of work programs, including compiling the works schedule for a substantial Heavy Patching program. This required the synthesis of detailed field information into a new data format, which was then communicated to RMS staff for negotiation and agreement. Following this, I was responsible for ensuring this works program was effectively communicated to field workers to support their operations. Upon completion of work, I then reconciled works as executed conformance data to provide RMS with quality assurance documentation.During this temporary role, I continued in the core duties of my previous Assets and GIS Officer role, maintaining systems as required, along with participating in a wide range of merger activities.
