20 years of experience in planning and management of development projects and programmes, frequently on the interface of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. Proven leadership in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams at various hierarchical levels. Familiar with aspects of WASH including food security, health, nutrition, education, housing and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). Significant exposure to the design and evaluation of programmatic approaches. Extensive experience in participatory approaches with beneficiaries, private sector actors, local governments and ministries, as well as UN and international/local NGO’s. Excellent negotiation skills based on transparent and sound communication, intercultural sensitivity and precise analytical abilities. Acute sensitivity for realistic and feasible solutions. Pro-active and convincing motivator for action in complex environments. Experienced in the set-up, management and evaluation of monitoring and indicator-based observation systems. Member of SDC’s WASH expert group. Proven ability to work under harsh conditions and to live in fragile countries.
