Experienced Transportation Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the transportation/trucking/railroad industry. Responsible for managing, planning and administrating the daily operational/logistics functions of our equipment and drivers in the most cost-effective, and customer satisfying manner while immediately resolving issues that arise and ensuring consistent implementation of policies, standards, and practices. Although commercial drivers positions are in high demand, we were able to develop a workplace environment that resulted in a high rate of employee retention with minimum turnover.We also achieved drastically reduction in our collections accounts receivable by implementing new policies for credit analysis and straightening our relationship with key customers.Our safety and compliance department was benefited by a recognition program where our drivers were rewarded for being diligent with their work while operating our commercial vehicles, resulting in more clean DOT inspections and higher safety ratings for our company.We were able to minimize downtime, maintenance cost, and expensive road service calls by implementing an in-house maintenance program. That also positively impacted our customer satisfaction with fewer claims for our refrigerated portion, reflecting the better condition of our equipment.Drivers were trained to work as a team player, to care about the equipment and be aware of the small repairs that could culminate in major repairs when a problem not addressed in time. This training also made them more conscious about fuel consumption, now operating our equipment more efficiently and using gas stations affiliated with our fuel discount programs.
