• Performed Western Blots and SDS-PAGE gels analyzing cryptochrome protein expression in plant samples after conducting temperature sensitive light phosphorylation experiments in collaboration with the physics and.
• Conducted DNA Electrophoresis to purify DNA from plant samples and PCR for cryptochrome gene amplification to analyze nucleotide base differences in 80 unique strains of Arabidopsis thaliana.
• Engaged in cultural immersions to Normandy, Paris, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Illinois Beach State Park

• Collaborated with conservation biologists from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) in monitoring invasive plant species to prevent spreading.
• Monitored threatened plants of concern at various coastal locations with the Chicago Botanic Garden to mark protected areas.
• Measured beach erosion throughout the summer with the Coastal Management Program through the IDNR at Waukegan Beach and Illinois Beach State Park to track areas in need of beach nourishment.
• Staffed nature center, engaging in community outreach and education by leading 3-5 nature walks per week for groups of 4-20 visitors through the dunes.
