About Peter Mitchell
I am a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who has been practicing indirect tax (sales tax and customs) for 35 years, including the federal GST/HST since its inception in 1991. Most of my career has been with Felesky Flynn LLP, a boutique tax law firm in Alberta, and Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm. In 2022, I came out of a brief retirement to start a consulting firm dedicated to providing high quality indirect tax advice to accounting and law firms. I can deal either with the firm or directly with the client Most accounting and law firms do not do enough indirect tax work to warrant having someone knowledgeable do it in-house. I provide this service for them. For larger firms who do have sufficient work, I provide a review and mentoring service which allows a part-time in-house practitioner learn and grow.
