I am an environmental engineer with a background in hydrology and fluvial geomorphology. I investigate water and sediment fluxes in river basins using methods ranging from field observations, data analysis and experimentation, to simple and complex numerical modelling. My research team studies the connections between physical processes in catchments, their impacts on ecosystems and humans, and engineering solutions to environmental problems. As a promoter of creative hands-on teaching at all levels, I believe that education is our best weapon against misinformation, manipulation and poverty.
