Started as Java Rainbow Neon Industry doing business in neon signs in 1972. Also as an affiliate of Rainbow Neonlight Services PTE Ltd. of Singapore. In 1986, Mr. Francis Moniaga, then the Managing Director of RAINBOW decided to do business not only in neon signs, but also outdoor advertising, selling outdoor advertising packages which include suitable advertising sites, all formal tax and permits formalities, constructions, realization of the signs and maintenances. Under the Name of P.T. Rainbow Cipta Utala. Which became very successful indeed. Among our main advertising clients include Gudang Garam, TOSHIBA, Toray Tetrex, Toyota, SANYO, Telefunken, Mitsubishi Electric, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sansui, Super Italia, Sogo and BCA. Later (1990) also Samsung and LG. In 2002, APN News & Media of Australia bought 50% of our shares, with a new joint-venture name of P.T. RAINBOW ASIA POSTERS. But in 2014, Rainbow bought back all the shares of APN.
