Reporting to the Head of Procurement and the Head of IT, I was engaged as a Senior Purchasing Manager primarily for client liaison to further promote procurement and strategic planning within the Directorate. But also carry out the procurement of the organisation’s; hardware, software, network and telephony requirements to ensure timely response to internal client requirements. Such requirements include middleware software applications, network support contracts, hardware, helpdesk systems and the renegotiation of all voice and data contracts.Major Achievements:• Increased the dependency on professionals to carry out procurement of major programmes, which in turn has reduced risk, project failures, contract disputes, lowered costs and increased productivity.• Leading a number of procurement projects; major telephony replacement programme across the organisation, saving £2M. • Removal of the dependency on individual relationships for consultancy services, replacing it with a limited number of professional services contracts, now utilised across the organisation.• Review and implementation of software asset management, bringing significant improvement in license management and total cost of ownership• Renegotiation of networking maintenance contract, reducing costs whilst raising service levels.
