I am currently a consultant with MB Collision Investigation. I retired from the Police Service of Scotland (formerly Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary) in January 2022 following 30 years service. I was a Road Policing Officer for over 25 years and an operational forensic collision investigator for 17 years.I hold a City and Guilds of London Institute certificate in Forensic Collision Investigation which was gained at the Scottish Police college in association with Aberdeen University.I was a Police 'class 1' advanced driver and have further qualified in Tachograph analysis and calibration, the transport of hazardous goods by road and motor vehicle inspection and prohibition.I was also a national Police Air Accident and Incident Advisor having carried out training with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch and the Royal Air Force in association with Cranfield University.In my Road Policing career I was trained in the use of various hand held Radar and Laser speed measuring devices in addition to vehicle fitted VASCAR, Provida and PUMA average speed measuring devices.I am a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and an affiliate member of the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators.Prior to joining the Police Service I completed a 3 year HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
