Current Work Experience: Deputy Maintenance Requirements, Material Readiness and Improvements for Commanders Submarine Force United States Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC). As the civilian counterpart to a Navy Captain, I directly manage a staff of 25 professional and technical employees. responsible for the management, administration and execution of maintenance, repair and modernization of 41 Pacific Fleet submarines and two submarine repair tenders.- Supervises a team of subordinate managers in the development of short and long-range objectives to implement maintenance and material readiness improvements across the submarines force and with the maintenance organizations responsible to execute maintenance in the COMSUBPAC area of responsibility.- Oversees the development and scheduling of submarine maintenance and budgeting to inform the Pacific Fleet’s input for the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE), Program Objectives Memorandum (POM) and Department of Navy (DON) processes.- Provides guidance and direction to subordinate supervisors on emergent material issues in the submarine force by focusing the team on methods to execute repairs and procure material in response to Navy casualty reports, fleet technical assistance requests and submarine response messages.- Direct oversight of the COMSUBPAC Quality Assurance program; required to ensure sustained certifications of submarines in the SUBSAFE (SS), Deep Submergence Systems-Scope of Certification (DSS-SOC) and Fly-by-Wire-Ship Control System (FBW-SCS). Oversees the scheduling and execution of sustaining surveys and corrective action required to meet program standards.- Formulates lessons learned and data analysis to maximize the improvement of future ship maintenance and modernization availabilities.
