I am a nephrologist working at Austin Health where I am the Director of Nephrology. My clinical interests include haemodialysis and chronic kidney disease. As Clinical Associate Professor with the University of Melbourne, my major research interest is in understanding the links between renal energy metabolism and kidney disease. My clinical research experience includes numerous clinical trials, in particular, studying the effect of different intravenous fluids on outcomes in kidney transplantation. I am actively involved in teaching and supervising postgraduate students, renal registrars, medical students and junior doctors. I chair the Policy and Quality Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology. I am passionate about improving outcomes for patients with kidney disease, and the importance of improving patient quality and safety.
