Peter has worked in rural communities for over 40 years and has developed an expertise in community development, leadership in rural communities, service coordination frameworks and has published extensively in these areas. Before being CEO of Centacare Catholic Family Services Country SA, Peter was an Associate Professor at the University of SA, Centre for Regional Engagement and is now an Adjunct Associate Professor. He is recognised by his professional association and is the one Foundation Fellow of the Australian College of Social Work in South Australia. In his 11 years at Centacare Country SA, Peter has grown the organisation from 25 staff to over 90 staff and is the leading non-government agency in the Western part of South Australia. He has a commitment to ensuring services are provided to those people in need in this region. Peter retired at the end of 2016 and whilst retired still does some part-time work across the region for a range of agencies in Western South Australia. He received a Papal Honour being made a Knight Commander of the Order of St Gregory the Great at the end of 2016.
