Chief Product OfficerBowers & Wilkins May 2016 - Dec 2018Worthing, GbIn May of 2016, Eva automation purchased Bowers and Wilkins - the premiere speaker manufacturer in the world. I became their Chief Product Officer, responsible for all worldwide product managers and overall product roadmap. We were responsible for transforming the company into a user experience driven organization - and as such were also responsible for all UX, Design, and Software work in the combined company. I had a guiding hand in the decision to purchase Bowers, and in driving the integration of the two companies, technically, culturally, and from a product vision standpoint.We spent almost three years building the world's most beautiful and easy to use suite of wireless speakers. My role encompassed design, product, and software engineering. I owned all interaction and visual design for the products, as well as the overall vision behind them, and how people would use them. We worked closely with industrial design teams in the U.K. on the physical design of the speakers and physical remote control. UX design was an ongoing effort that ran almost entirely out of California. Software for all of those products reports into me and was situated primarily in CA as well. In three years we brought five new products to market with the quality required of a Bowers & Wilkins brand - while maintaining the Bowers legacy business and making significant gains in their headphones efforts. I’m incredibly proud of what all of those teams achieved. -

I built the software organization up from 3 employees to more than 100, and constructed product management and design/ux organizations from scratch. I contributed to the decision to purchase Bowers & Wilkins, as well as the subsequent efforts to merge the two companies into one well functioning whole, spanning 19 different countries.• Defined overall UX for the product• Architected and built an embeddedLinux os allowing us to support a custom windowing framework, custom WiFi implementation providing patented Quality of Service for wireless video streaming, and an amazing user experience.• Leveraged this product, through dozens of investor demos, to help our CEO raise almost $200M in an incredibly tight financial environment• Built a UX and Design organization comprising experienced design leads from Roku, Samsung, Apple and Disney. Designed one consolidated UX that spanned hardware product, our website, sales portal, an on boarding documentation.• Built a design culture based on fast iteration and prototyping. -

Client DeveloperNapster 2000 - 2002I was responsible for the overall application framework development, the design and development of a number of custom controls to handle input and display, as well as ownership of the overall initial look and feel. The entire application is owner drawn to provide a consistent yet unique feel, and extremely good aesthetics – while remaining intuitive to use. The application had to be developed for a global customer base as well as users not overly familiar with computer use. The application needed to be developed under an extremely tight schedule. I worked closely with marketing, as well as an external design firm at the end of the process, to achieve these goals. This was a project that I picked up on my own time purely for the fun of it and the chance to work on something with such broad exposure.
