Responsible for writing Java code to dynamically generate the HTML front-end using Java servlets running on Tomcat on the middle tier and accessing a MySQL database backend. Wrote XSLFO stylesheets to generate PDF versions of the NIH forms from XML, delivered electronically to the NIH as via a SOAP web service. Used regular expressions for content mark-up.Refactored an existing code base of over 600 Java classes to adhere to object-oriented programming design standards and enforce the Model View Controller design pattern.Wrote servlet code to generate HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to deliver an interactive experience for continuing medical education websites developed by the company.
