About Peter O'Malley

Peter O’Malley started his career as an architect. Before becoming involved in dispute resolution he was the senior partner at ‘LOM architecture and design’ an acclaimed international practice which he founded, with his co-partner David Livesey, in London in 1989. During his time in practice he worked across the world where he led many prestigious and award winning projects in Europe, the Middle East, West Africa, the Caribbean, the Far East and Australia.Through his international background, Peter has experience in administrating the FIDIC and NEC standard forms of contract in Common, Civil and Sharia law jurisdictions, in addition to the JCT, RIAI, PWC forms and bespoke agreements. Peter is a qualified arbitrator, adjudicator, mediator and conciliator. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and an accredited CIArb examiner in adjudication. Peter is the Chair and a long-standing committee member of the Ireland Branch of CIArb. Peter continues to author academic papers and media articles on current construction subjects on which he is also and accomplished lecturer and speaker.Peter presently sits on the sub-committee of the ciarb responsible for the establishment of a training course in adjudication under the Construction Contracts Act 2013 to be made available in 2024. Peter is also the Course Director for the Adjudication Decision Writing Course at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.
