Having successfully completed my tenure as Acting Director of Operations, I have refocused my efforts on the technical strategy of the organization. Some of the notable technical solutions and projects that we have undertaken include:-Development and maintenance of web and mobile applications-Installation, configuration, and maintenance of a comprehensive on-premises technical infrastructure (since 2011)- Migration to Office 365 and SPE E5- Design, configure, and maintain the entire Film Production Post-Production environment, utilizing Apple, Adobe, Blackmagic, and EditShare technologies- Technical design, implementation, and support for various projects, films, and events such as the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (2011, 2012), Ajyal Youth Film Festival (2013-2023), Qumra (2015-2023), and the National Museum of Qatar- Film productions, festivals, and other events present diverse technical challenges, each offering unique opportunities to engage with new technology, vendors, partners, staff members, team members, volunteers, and the public. Internally, we provide support for a fluctuating number of temporary staff members ranging from 150 to 250+ and multiple satellite offices.I attribute our success to the unwavering support of our leadership, my team's collaborative efforts, and my colleagues' positive attitude. In my role as a System Engineer at Al Jazeera English, I held the responsibility of overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Information Technology and Broadcast digital systems across the Washington DC and New York bureaus.Regarding IT operations, my duties encompassed a wide range of areas. This included internal networking tasks such as LAN cabling, Wi-Fi, and fiber optic installations. Additionally, I managed critical IT components such as Internet connectivity, email, anti-virus, Intranet, server hardware and OS, desktop PCs, laptops, client OS, and Microsoft Office products. Moreover, I provided real-time support for all systems to ensure seamless on-air response, assessment, and resolution of issues during live broadcasts.Within the realm of broadcast operations, I gained expertise in working with distinguished hardware and software solutions, including Barco, Citrix, Diva Archive, SchedulAll, Sony, Thomson Grass Valley, and Vizrt.
