Responsibilities included drafting dozens of formal constituent response letters received by thousands of constituents, serving as the initial point of contact for hundreds of office visitors and phone callers, writing various memos to staff and the Congressman on bills and policy issues, drafting social media, talking points, and assisting with press conferences, among other tasks. During this internship I gained valuable knowledge about the House of Representatives and governmental affairs, I created unique communications content, I improved my customer/constituent service skills, and I learned how to manage high workloads and quick timelines.

Responsibilities include leading US Capitol tours for constituents, attending hearings/briefings and creating memos for staff, assigning correspondence through an online database system, sorting incoming mail, processing voicemails, running legislative errands, researching topics and creating briefing documents, and completing various special projects for the office. A fast-paced, professional environment with little room for error.

Seasonal position to assist in tax collection. Tasks included issuing annual licenses, receiving and processing tax payments, providing customer service, serving as the initial point of contact for the office, and general administrative activities.

Seasonal lifeguard position that included performing patron surveillance, enforcing facility rules, administering first aid, and serving as a responder to emergency situations.

Served as a lights, sound, and stage technician for theater productions and rental group performances and worked closely with other employees to provide logistical support. Helped perform opening and closing duties as well as answer questions from attendees.

Additionally I handled admission transactions and served as the primary source of contact for patron questions and communications.

Primarily facilitated constituent correspondence by drafting letters and taking phone calls with scores of constituents as well as examining media sources to identify articles, awards, or honors about constituents and the Representative. Additionally, I frequently collaborated with senior staff members to compile briefing information for the Representative and occasionally observed legislative sessions and committee meetings.
