I have held various roles at the British School Warsaw, including Head of Biology and Head of Science, where I have been responsible for running a very successful department and achieving some of the best results in the school including 100% A-A* in CIE 0610 course. I am a passionate, dedicated IBDP and GCSE Science teacher with specialty and training in Biology post 16 and all Sciences upto GCSE.Prior to my relocation to Warsaw I was teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Eltham College, a leading London independent school, for four years. My results here were also excellent where my students achieved 100% A and A* at GCSE (IGCSE Biology Edexcel course) and 100% A*-B at A-level (A-level Biology OCR course), making the Biology department one of the most successful in the school. I was also in charge of a very successful devolved leadership project where I ran staff and student training programmes in virtual learning and have been responsible for whole school staff training in software including Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom. This was prior to Covid and put the school in a very good position prior to the outbreak.I have enjoyed using a range of teaching methods to inspire my students not only to obtain some of the best results in the country, but also to pursue Biology and medical degrees. I have experience of assisting students to secure places at the universities of their choice, having previously been appointed as master in charge of medical applications. This role has entailed organising work experience for students, helping prepare students to sit the BMAT and UKCAT application exams, advising students in filling out their UCAS personal statements, arranging external speakers to speak to the students about a range of topics from medical ethics to the state of the NHS, as well as leading interview preparation sessions.
