The primary functional expert accountable for the high quality, innovative and effective Procurement functional learning programme within the Mars University framework. The role oversees all functional curriculum, capability and career frameworks for the global Procurement division.Working with key stakeholders across Mars Inc. to ensure that Procurement associates have the knowledge, skills, tools, and development opportunities they need to deliver world-class business results.

Supporting the deployment and success of world class procurement programs across Europe along with other regional specific effectiveness initiatives. A cross-segment regional role that closely works with the European Commercial Leadership Team, supporting them in driving the deployment & implementation of world class procurement tools and systems, building functional capabilities/talent and driving overall change management for the function. In addition the role is part of a global Commercial Effectiveness communityResponsible for creating and delivering the annual functional capability upskilling plan for the division across the region, with over 2500 hours of training delivered each year.Owner of the Mars European Procurement Leadership graduate programme

Cross-category role across a number of the Mars businesses in the UK, focussing on the technical aspects of benefits e.g. Pensions & Healthcare.

Cross-category role focussing on employment law and its applications to internal Mars policy development. Particular focus on the implementation of the Agency Worker Regulations.

Focus on standardising our approach to Logistic commercial tenders, for both distribution and warehousing. Creation of the Mars Tender Toolkit, which is now widely used globally, and has become the standard Mars approach in this area.

Cross-category role managing the UK spend on factory services. Chair of a team of european service buyers

Cross-category role representing the UK into a global team designing the buying template within SAP for Mars Inc.

Purchase of capacity at third party manufacturers to manufacture new and innovative sugar products for Mars.

Focus on developing both internal and external processes to improve our buying efficiency. Lead a number of pan-european Lean-Thinking projects, as well as working on a number of supply pipeline initatives.
