Responsible for accounting for complex areas derivative accounting under US GAAPResponsible for the overall financial reporting controls and a key member of the disclosure processAssisted in the re-negotiation of various syndicated credit facilities ranging from $100 to $500 million including the market pricing and necessary approvals. Responsible for the preparation and review of material for the Audit Committee on a quarterly and annual basis including Management's Report to the Audit Committee and an analytical review of both the balance sheet and business unit income statements. Member of various defined benefit pension committees and provided assistance with the re-negotiation of various parts of pension trust agreements.Responsible for ensuring accounting issues are researched under various accounting standards as required including the conversion from Canadian GAAP to US GAAP (prior to US GAAP and IFRS). Assisted with due diligence work on acquisition and divestiture including reviewing accounting practices and due diligence work on accounting impacts of various acquisitions. Responsible for documenting the controls over financial accounting and reporting.Supervision of four direct (13 indirect) staff with responsibility for reviews and performance management including mentorship and coaching.Trustee/Alternate Trustee Defined Benefit Pension Plans.
