Continuing to architect and lead the development of an AI-based automation platform for classifying and extracting data from document images. The platform utilizes deep vision neural networks, natural language processing, workflow automation, business-rules processing, and analytics to to deliver valuable business insights. Our current focus is residential mortgage processing.The platform utilizes a microservices architecture, and is deployed in the cloud as a containerized SaaS solution.

Leading the development of an Intelligent Process Automation platform for document-centric business processes. The platform combines techniques from Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and DevOps to deliver unprecedented levels of automation and business value to our customers. While the underlying technology is domain-neutral, our initial focus is on mortgage processing and financial services.

- Member of the system management group within the Platform Software organization- Contributing to the strategy, architecture and implementation of Cray's next generation unified supercomputer/cluster system management solution based on the OpenStack cloud operating system- Agile/Scrum-based development methodology- As product owner, developed process and tooling for gathering customer requirements and developing feature blueprints used to guide product releases- Liaison with OpenStack upstream development. - Led the development of Terascala's high performance storage appliance. Based on the Lustre parallel filesystem the appliance was able to deliver significantly better performance for applications in a range of verticals including manufacturing, life sciences, oil and gas exploration. Terascala produced a complete software stack that was installed on commodity hardware and sold through OEM partners.- Managed Terascala's 10 person development team.- Responsible for project definition and execution, and delivering the product roadmap- Worked with OEM partners on the qualification of hardware updates and development of new features- Worked with customers and prospects to design storage solutions to meet their requirements- Extended reliability-availability-serviceability capabilities to assist users in makingoperational decisions and troubleshooting failures- Active contributor to the Ganglia open source project that develops an industry-standard monitoringframework for high performance clusters- Owner of the open source Lustre plugin for the Collectl monitoring tool- Led a four person team to architect and develop a monitoring/management framework for a third party storage appliance. The framework was based on a micro-services architecture, and intended to inter-operate with OpenStack deployments. The framework used a RabbitMQ message bus for internal communication, and REST APIs for external access.- Member of the senior management team

- Worked in ASG's Performance Division, focused on developing tooling for IT personnel to manage andtroubleshoot issues with their mission-critical enterprise applications.- Managed the product strategy, architecture, and development of ASG’s product for monitoring and managing the performance of in-production J2EE (Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat) and ASP.NET applications, application servers, and associated system resources. The product utilized scalable agent-based web architecture to centrally manage and gather data from complex multi-server installations. Bytecode instrumentation was used for low overhead measurement of application performance, and a novel technique for identifying application pathways was used to correlate data in terms of end-to-end user transactions. - Managed the development of the AutoDBA Oracle database product that assists database administrators in monitoring the health of their Oracle databases, and automating routine maintenance and tuning tasks.- Managed the development of products for monitoring the performance of WebSphere MQ on distributed and mainframe platforms

- Managed the product strategy and development of Segue's Verification products. Segue's Verificationproducts included SilkTest, and industry-standard functional testing tool for Web-based, JAVA, VB/ActiveX and conventional client server applications, SilkRadar for defect tracking, and SilkPlan for test management.- Led Segue's 20 person US development lab consisting of development, QA, documentation, and product management people.- Implemented a lab-wide program focused on continuous process improvement.- Led development of SilkTest International, the first fully-Unicode enabled tool for testing multilingualweb sites- Worked closely with key customers as an executive sponsor, and alliance partners to develop new opportunities and products- Member of Segue Senior Management Team

Proposed, formed, and managed a group of 25 engineers whose mission was to architect the integration of separate best-in-class products into a cohesive software suite. The group focused on identification of value-add integration use cases, and technical solutions such as abstracted APIs, shared data models, and reusable platform components. The group was geographically distributed among Cambridge MA, Cambridge UK, and Houston TX.

Managed the development of RT-OPT, a software product for building, deploying, maintaining, and executing large-scale closed-loop mathematical models used to optimize the operation of manufacturing processes. The models can be run in either training mode to best fit parameters to actual operation, or prediction mode for computing optimal plant settings to meet a desired production goal.- Developed a product vision that enabled tighter integration of the design and operation of manufacturing processes, through the use of life-cycle models- Initiated a "skunk-works" development project eventually growing to leadership of a team of 15 people that executed all aspects of product development from requirements gathering to product release and customer support.- Developed core system architecture, and implemented it as a distributed component-based framework, parts of which were used in several AspenTech products- Adopted an iterative development approach to deal with uncertainties in key requirements, and the use of continuous integration to improve product quality- Developed for multiple platforms including Windows NT, Unix, and VMS
