Effectively model, mentor, and monitor excellence in the eight Career Success Standards. Monitor trainee progress toward achieving training objectives, as documented in the Personal Career Development Plans (PCDP); ensure trainees obtain maximum benefits from the program and are ready to transition into placement upon program completion. Coordinate trade changes and provides guidance to trainees during the process of evaluation various vocational training options. Assist instructors and staff in efforts to support trainees with special needs. Assist trainees with scheduling concerns; work with instructors and others to develop a schedule that will best meet trainee needs. Coordinate scheduling of driver education training and off-center education and training assignments for trainees, consistent with PCDP. Verify status of trainees nearing completion. Assist with AWOL retrievals. Coordinate trainee contacts and placement in military. Maintain current information on requirements and opportunities for future and advanced training; assist trainees in enrolling into these programs. With Career Transition Specialist, conduct exit interview with trainees as they prepare to exit the program. Participate in joint sessions with Residential Advisors and the Center mental health consultant. Prepare monthly trainee progress reports. Ensure completion of Career Development Training Classes. Assess and develop trainee’s employability skills. Provide supervision of counseling services provided by Social Work Interns. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
