Sustainable Offsets Limited (SOL) serves as Project Developer to oversee the installation and performance of grid tied, solar power systems that are placed on commercial buildings.. The systems produce at least ½ megawatts of power. SOL often forms a joint venture with a manufacturer to serve as the equity interest in each transaction.As a Project Developer, SOL performs the following:• Identifies the for-profit or non-profit commercial end user of the solar power system• Working with the installer/manufacturer, secures a quality, efficient design of the solar system • Completes a financial analysis which results in the calculation of the Return on Investment (ROI) of the solar power system to owners & to the end user• Works with legal consul to insure the completion of the PPA agreement with the utility• Negotiates a contract with end user for installation of solar power system• Finalizes the joint venture agreement with manufacturer• Oversees the solar power system’s installation from start to finish, including the signing of contracts with the panel manufacturer and installer• Oversees the procurement of permits• Interfaces with the local utility to procure rebates and other incentives• Procures government tax credits and grants• Selects site inspector to approve project• Coordinates distribution of rebates & other revenue to investors and to end user• Provides bookkeeping services to track costs of system• Procure government & other grants • Bundles & coordinates the sale of the carbon offsets• Oversees the operation of the system for at least five (5) yearsIn addition, SOL has received designation as an Aggregator with the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX).
