Maritime Solutions - Most Things Nautical - was established in 2001 and began operating in the Caribbean and USA. It has been based in South East Queensland since 2002.The principal of the company, Captain Peter Pope MNI, has been in the marine industry since 1985. Peter has been a marine electrician, marine surveyor and an insurance assessor since 2001.In 1992-94, Peter built his own yacht in Australia, a 35 ft Martzcraft designed by Brent Martz, in which he circumnavigated the world over 7 years. On this trip, he often worked as a Captain or did other jobs such as overseeing the building and rebuilding of hurricane damaged boats in the Caribbean. He repaired and installed generators, electrical and desalination units as well as assisting in diesel engine repairs and rebuilds.Peter has been Captain on several power super yachts ranging from 80 to 120ft. He was Chief Engineer on a 165ft power super yacht and Chief Engineer/First Mate on an 80 ft sailing catamaran crossing the Atlantic from the Caribbean to Spain. He was also a Delivery Captain for Nautor's Swan Charters, based in Rhode Island and the Caribbean.Over the years, with his wealth of knowledge and experience, Peter has built a reputation as one of the best marine surveyors in South East Queensland and is often called on by insurance companies to assess claims and to troubleshoot what may have caused accidents.
