Northwest Kidney Centers Foundation
The Northwest Kidney Centers (NKC) is a $65 million dollar non-profit agency with 13 dialysis centers. In addition to in-center treatments, NKC also provides home hemodialysis, educational support, transportation, emergency assistance, and other support programs for people living with chronic kidney disease.Responsible for raising $1.8 million dollars annually for NKC equipment and services for kidney patients based on the needs and program growth for the year.Identified $2 million dollars to establish the Kidney Research Institute in partnership with the University of Washington, School of Medicine Division of Nephrology.Identify and recruit, with support of Board members, volunteer leadership with asking power.Challenge and excite the Foundation Board, provide visionary leadership to the Foundation and Foundation board to significantly grow NKC philanthropy.Design, develop, and provide training aids and materials to assist volunteers and board members in cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.Interview, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate development staff and provide strong leadership, clear goals, and instill a work ethic with a positive style of public relations.Assume overall responsibility and accounting for all activities related to the Northwest Kidney Centers Foundation. Direct and supervise multifaceted programs including direct mail, memorials, major gifts, appeals, campaigns, special events, annual giving, and planned giving.Obtained a $300,000 dollar capital request from the State of Washington.Received a $277,000 dollar federal appropriation for NKC.Involved in lobbying both on the state and federal level to provide education, advocacy, and possible funding for NKC.
