Working in the Instrumentation Control and Electrical Engineering Program at Fusion for Energy. Following up the manufacture of the MITICA Neutral Beam Source contract with the Neutral Beam Beam Source Team, contracts with companies in France and Germany . Also responsible for the Diagnostics contract for MITICA and SPIDER test Neutral Beam sources located in Padua , Italy.

I was following the fabrication and quality control of one of ITER's Polodial Field Coils PF6, this coil is 10 m in diameter , 1 meter high and weighs 350 tonnes, it is a superconducting magnet composed of Ni Ti strand. The magnet will operate at 6 T when cooled to 4.2 degrees Kelvin with helium. The PF6 magnet was fabricated by the Chinese Academy of Plasma Physics in Hefei China. This meant visiting China every two months. Previously I worked in the conductors group on the fabrication of the Ni Ti strand with the Russian Federation, Ni 3Sn strand with OST in the USA and EAS Bruker in Germany, the cabling operations with Tratos in Italy and the Jacketing with Criotec in Italy. I also followed the strand verification contracts with the University of Durham in the UK and the conductor electrical testing at the SULTAN facility , a part of the Swiss Plasma Institute.

I was working in the Tokamak department , specifically working on the Vacuum Vessel procurement arrangement, I was also involved in the In-Wall shielding and ports PAs.

Responsible for the Electronics Laboratory and the instrumentation and electronic needs for two Beamlines. I was also working on a Vauum pump power supply splitter, magnet measuring stations for the Dipoles and ID magnets.

Geneva Area, Switzerland

Supervisor on the Anti-Proton Decelerator, during shut downs I also worked with the Power Electronics group, involved in the design B train system to measure the magnetic fields in the chain of accelerators . Also the remote control of the Multi Wire Chambers in the Anti Proton Decelerator.I was also a CERN guide.

Responsible for the instrumentation and electronics in the Protein Cystallography beam line during the design and commissioning. Also the cabling needs of the beamline.

Working and living on the Halley 4 British Antarctic Survey research station on two occasions:Sep 1988- March 1991 Halley 4: Meteorology , safety including Antarctic travelling, crevasse rescue , rope work, abseiling, base maintenance.October 1993 - March 1994: Halley 5 : Assistant Surveyor , construction of a new base and a survey of the Brunt Ice Shelf.
