I spent a lot of time as a child playing games. From RTS games such as Command & Conquer, through MMOs like Dofus, and more hours than I really should have on the Final Fantasy series. Even now, whenever I pick up a game I spend a lot of time wondering “Why does this work?” and “How does this work?” For me there has always been a lot of enjoyment in working out how to solve the puzzle, how all the stats work together to make a build viable, and the satisfaction of making builds like the Combat Eniripsa, or the 55HP monk work. When I went to university, I found the joy of Tabletop RPGs, falling in love with games like World of Darkness, Pathfinder, and the infamous Ars Magica. These games helped refine my problem solving and challenging my teamwork skills both in person and remote, and helped me to really appreciate how valuable a diverse team really is. I first went to The University of Hull to study Biomedical Science, hoping to eventually study Medicine and move into Bionic research, as the idea of Human / Computer interfaces has always been a passion of mine. I pivoted however when I found I had a real affinity to code, and went on to do my Masters in Computer Science with Cyber Security at Wrexham Glyndŵr University. Since then I’ve built apps for my gaming group, dashboard and counters for raid tracking, and many more small utilities that make interfacing with the data much more manageable. I bring this need to know and solve to my practice as I work. I build integrations into platforms so that you can automate pain points. I build dashboards and reports so that you can see a holistic picture of the situation. I pick and prod at scenarios until we find out what’s really pinning it together, then work with you to figure out how we can optimise and push forward (Much like how adding in the Grim Cesta really makes the monk pop).I’m a very open and honest person, to the extent that it shocks a lot of people. If you ask a question, I’ll do my best to find an answer.
