I joined the Inwards Department at Minster adjusting APH claims from first advice through to final settlement, in accordance with company guidelines. I was head of the Special Projects Team on a data cleansing exercise. February 2003 I was the Assistant Manager responsible for issuance of APH reinsurance claims. Duties also included in Marine business, mainly Kuwait A/Ls, Hurricane Hugo, CAT 90A and Piper Alpha, all losses on our Cargo, Hull, Rig, Liability and War policies that impacted the Marine LMX spiral. I was also responsible for the analysis reports to senior management regarding the recoverability of complex claims on a gross/net basis. I managed Minsters in-house broker project, ensuring minimum disruption to the department while maximising reinsurance recoveries. For the last two years I managed a team involved in company commutations, from production of IBNRs through to negotiating and finalising settlement agreement with reinsurers.

Claims adjuster on Marine / Non-Marine and Aviation LMX claims. (Which included APH and short tail claims) The majority of claims were seen as the lead insurer on the policies. I was also involved with the newly set up market Inter Syndicate Reinsurance (ISR) system. My other duties concerned forming a broker liaison committee, to resolve general market queries, either technical or non-technical that effected claims adjusting. This included giving market presentations.As a contractor to Equitas I was involved in direct communications with various departments and supplying data that was critical to valuation and reserving provisions being utilised for the Equitas settlement strategy.
