About Peter Richner

Peter Richner is Deputy Director of Empa and responsible for the research focus area Built Environment. The reduction of the environmental footprint of the building stock is in the center of his own activities. He was the Head of the Swiss Competence Center in Energy Research (SCCER) "Future Energy Efficient Buildings & Districts" (http://www.sccer-feebd.ch) in the first phase of the center from 2014-2017.Furthermore, he leads the NEST project (nest.empa.ch), a unique research and technology platform which fosters the development and validation of new solutions for buildings under real life conditions.Since June 2020, Peter Richner is hosting the monthly podcast "Die Zukunft des Bauens", where he is discussing hot topics around the construction sector with guests from industry, academia and politics (https://www.empa.ch/web/nest/podcast). The majority of the podcasts are in German.
