• Directly responsible on shift for all aspects of a mill featuring a 6 ply Kobayashi Board Machine• Responsible for health and safety, efficiencies, training, plant inspections, audits, shift payroll, etc• Adept at trouble shooting, strong mechanically and on process• Write lockout plans and documentation as well as SOP and JHA as required• Member Joint Health and Safety Committee, familiar with OHSA requirements (Canadian and US)• Relief labour scheduler, logistics scheduling –raw material and shipping• Relief duties also included production scheduling and plant invoicing

• Directly responsible for aspects of the Stock Preparation Department and the Receiving Department (includes sizing and core cutting/supply)• Managed and directed fibre replacements and utilizations to achieve very significant cost reductions • Introduced and maintained offsite rail unloading of raw materials to allow capture of reduced freight charges associated with rail• Managed inventory levels of all raw materials• Responsible for spot market and bulk purchases of raw materials to avoid price increases and capture special opportunity• Introduced 5 new recycled fibre types in a three year period• Directed and oversaw the development and implementation of a Access/SQL based raw material tracking and usage program that included fibre, chemicals, dyes, size press additives and all the various “security” fibres. Also included a “line-up” component to allow better management of raw materials.• Increased broke usage in strategic areas and grades to take the mill from a net producer and seller of broke to a net purchaser of other firms broke.• Managed an offsite warehouse to allow bulk storage for the capture of special opportunity or pricing• Optimized dye and fine retentions through chemistry changes on the PM’s that led to the ability to make black paper in our mill and then transfer some dark shades to a PM that released effluent directly to the environment• Filled in as back-up scheduler as required• Member Joint Health and Safety Committee• Administered discipline as required with-in the constraints of a collective agreement 1993-1998 Production Supervisor• Directly responsible for all aspects of the operation on shift from receiving through to shipping and finishing• Optimize furnishes for cost effectiveness without negatively impacting PM efficiencies• Optimize retentions, fillers, chemicals and other additives as above• Administer discipline as required in adherence to the collective agreement• Troubleshoot PM’s and mill in general
