I’m managing and growing the Amazon FBA section of the company by ensuring there is enough stock to avoid losing out on sales, but not too much that storage fees are too high. I’m also in charge of finding new products to grow the sector, general management of stock such as ensuring product images/descriptions are of the highest quality, ensuring the product listings have the correct settings to maximise profits and managing the warehouse packers to prepare the products as quickly, accurately and efficiently as possible. So far since I’ve been at the company the department has tripled in sales/profits compared to the previous year. I’m looking at moving on though because I’d like to go into a role that interests me more and has higher earning potential.

I was running my own Amazon online retail store, where I sourced products wholesale and was the employer of a warehouse packer, who had to label up the products to send them into the Amazon warehouse. I had to figure out systems to make sure everything was organised and the suppliers were searched every month, which I used Google Drive to create. Plus, I was handling all my accounts manually and dealing with customer issues that came up as well as inventing new creative methods to sourcing profitable products. Unfortunately, after maxing the business out at £150,000 turnover, an increase in competition that could buy more in bulk to save on their costs meant it gradually became no longer profitable enough to continue with.

I was working in logistics in the warehouse, updating SAGE systems, working on social media marketing campaigns with Facebook Ads and Google Adwords, helping design the website, informing businesses/customers of new products via the email newsletter, dealing with customer queries and meeting inbound sales enquiries targets.
