NCB is the largest Universal Bank in the Middle East with in excess of 2 million customers, over 400 Branches and 2000 ATMs. The key responsibilities of the role are the delivery of over 100 key banking services to our Retail and Corporate Clients including global and domestic payments, Trade Services, Treasury Services, Cash and ATM Management, Over 1000 direct employees in the team and 2000 plus out-sourced staff. Accountable Executive for 6 major Transformation Programmes including Payment re-platforming, Trade Centralization, Data Renovation, Archive Outsourcing, Strategic Document Imaging and Strategic Automation and Workflow of top 10 key processes.Major Achievements: Turnaround failing ATM Network, Availability increased to within target levels and by over 8% overall and 15% during peak periods. Turnaround failing Retail Expansion Programme increasing delivery from 3-4 new Branches a year and 5 new ATMs per month to a new Branch every 2 weeks and 1-2 new ATMs per day. Introduced new Operating model and Technology Platform in Trade Services. Improved Turnaround for complex Trade Transaction form 6 days to less than 2 day and introduced real time monitoring of Trade Transactions. This lead to a 6% (from 20% to 26%) improvement in NCBs Market Share in Trade Services (Letters of Credit). Increase productivity by over 25% by active use of ABC and ruthless focus on costs through use of technology, 6 Sigma and Lean techniques. Increased local payment processing from SR11 Trillion in 2011 to SR16 Trillion in 2012 with flat headcount and zero operational losses (a first for NCB). First end to end Major Process Automaton delivered leading to better service to our customers, reduced cost and reduction in the risk profile of the process. First Bank in Saudi Arabia to receive ISO 22301 for Business Continuity Management certified by the British Standards Institute (BSI). Responsibilities: BTC UK is one of Barclays 3 Global Technology Delivery Centers. Its Key responsibilities are Delivery of Barclays Key Digital Channel Global Applications (Internet and Mobile Banking) to around 25 businesses across the UK, Western Europe, Africa and Asia. Delivery and Support of the Barclays Africa Core Banking Applications across 9 African Countries. Delivery and Support of the ATM and Debit Card application platforms for Barclays African and Asian Businesses. Management of a number off-shore delivery teams based in India and China (a mix of vendor and in-house operations). The portfolio consists of a rolling program of around 80 projects with budgets of around £60m pa..Major Achievements: This was an expansion of my previous role so the results achieved are relevant to this role as well. In addition the following was also achieved. Creative use of our in-house developed middleware SOA platform (e-box) to deliver rapid value to our 9 African Businesses for example a new multi-channel front end application, an income leakage system which boosted income by over GBP1m p.a. Significant improvement in ATM availability - 91% to plus 95%. Full PCI Compliance. Off-shoring of our Core Banking Application Development (to China). 99.999 system availability of all key banking applications supporting our African business. Migration to a 24/7 technology model form the previous 20/7 model to support expansion of On-line Channels in Africa.

The Portfolio consists of a rolling set of 50-60 projects with an annual spend of £40m spread across 25 countries.The portfolio is delivered through a combination of in-house and off-shore vendor resources (300 in total) with approx 30% in house and 70% off-shore delivery through Delivery Centers based in the UK, Singapore, India and China. 24/7/365 Application support for the Global Application PortfolioMajor Achievements: Delivery of highly resilient, bullet proof on-line applications with the highest levels of Security and 99.999 availability. 2008/9 98% on time/budget delivery – over 200 projects delivered. No Severity 1 or 2 incidents due to application problems or change. 30% reduction in unit costs due to creation of lower costs operating models. 90%+ score in top 3 employee engagement measures. High Performing Centers of Excellence established in India and China. Creation of high quality low cost global delivery models using a combination of in house and supplier resources. Pioneering use of the latest technology including Fatwire CMS for UK Banking, Web 2.0 for Barclaycard, TAM authentication for our Emerging Markets businesses and MOSS07 for our Central Support Function.
