I work as a research scientist and the lead software developer for the Metric Geometry and Gerrymandering Group (MGGG). We mainly research various election methods, design and research various metrics for evaluating the partisanship of an election, and algorithmic and statistical techniques for determining the likelihood that a given districting plan has been gerrymandered in one way or another.In this role, I was responsible for maintaining and developing for all of the open-source packages that belong to MGGG (in particular our flagship package GerryChain), researching and understanding the other state-of-the-art ensemble methods for redistricting, and developing large-scale numerical exploration experiments using a High Performance Cluster to adequately sample from a desired distribution of either map ensembles or ballots for use in published works. In this role, was also responsible for mentoring other developers and researchers in the lab as they contributed to our other OSS projects including Maup and VoteKit.(continuation of job at Boston University)

My area of research focuses on numerical interpolation methods, discrete group actions, and applications of these topics to things like digital filter design and image processing.
