Was the senior developer on multiple shipped applications for the TI-83+ graphing calculator.Primary work was programming in Z80 assembly language. Took care to document code and think things through carefully, due to working in a low-level, unsafe language.Implemented a domain specific language for solving math problems, including a compiler and interpreter (in Perl and Z80 assembly, respectively). The bulk of our application code was in this custom language.Managed and set-up our source control systems – first with Subversion, later with Mercurial and Kiln.Automated our build process, using a mix of AutoIt, Perl, and batch files.Designed and set-up automated testing, using AutoIt.Debugging was primarily my responsibility, especially bugs found by automated testing.Used FogBugz to track and prioritize tasks, and Kiln to handle code reviews.Learned and used PHP, SQL, and PayPal's API in order to update and maintain the company's website.Helped to manage the development team when needed.As the first hire, was a key part of transitioning from a process that was simply one person coding to a process that let the team work well together and produce quality software.Learned most of this while on the job; hired for ability to learn, and did so.
