Before ordination trained as an electronics engineer ending up in the design drawing office. Then followed two years in the RAF as a Radar Mechanic. Then theological college when I worked in hospitals during vacations - always wanted to serve as a Hospital Chaplain. My main interests have always been in pastoral care & the healing ministry - my earlier experience in the workforce helped immensely to get alongside people & not just to listen but to hear what they were & were not saying - my clinical theological training built on this experience -so a largest part of my ministry has been in the pastoral areas - dealing with 'breakdowns,' suicide [all aspects] & general counselling. Now, in the latter years of my life, my interests are still centred in helping people pastorally but this is restricted because of decreased mobility - thus Linkedin is an important aspect of my life. So research has become an even more important aspect of life than it was before when I was too busy 'in the field.' My prayer life is very much in the contemplative area & much of it is done whilst making rugs using yarn which I cut myself.My main interests are being involved in the preservation of wildlife, the environment, sustainability, & climate change. I endeavour to support those who are suffering the hardships of poverty, hunger & lack of water - everyone has the right to an education & medical services, such as hospitals & medicines.I am a passionate advocate for Human Rights, especially equality of all people irrespective of gender, race, colour or creed. The growing violence against women & children is of great concern, with rape. child abuse plus human trafficking reaching epidemic proportions in many areas of this planet Also I deplore the growing gap between those who 'have' & those who 'have not' - the greed & corruption in all levels of society - & subscribe to those oganisations which endeavour to address these issues e.g. Amnesty International etc
