Computer Programmer with a nose for doing things as uncomplicated as possible with a view to future usability and hassle-free upgrade. And both of those with the heart of an educator who brings others along with him in upward growth.I started learning computer languages in high school (on a college time-share system) and later, how to build PCs. Programmed at a hardware level and up into using Visual GUI tools. Have done database interfaces, web work and tech support and rely on all the former as a Manager and Leader who knows the nitty-gritty details to probe in IT projects and knows how to create and maintain good relationships with all personnel. If I had to pick one forte, it would be the ability to burrow into a system, figure out how it works and improve it. The favorite example that comes to mind was a software-switched power-line communications system; I re-wrote the main controller which realized a speed increase of more than double. The owner had already been blown-off by the manufacturer who said it couldn't get any faster.Another favorite exercise, is creating a successful solution that the "experts" said couldn't be done.
