Responsibilities also included LNG ship loading operations, LNG shipping requirements of sales and purchase agreements, maritime security interface with the United States Coast Guard, and emergency response and incident management planning for the LNG carrier transit and the interface between LNG carrier and marine terminal, including LNG loading operations.• Led the project through the United States Coast Guard regulatory waterway suitability assessment process for LNG vessel transits with the project receiving a positive letter of recommendation from the United States Coast Guard in 2018.• Acted as the leading authority within the Pembina Pipeline Corporation, the parent company, for all marine-related design and operational matters.

• Developed, coordinated, and directly oversaw the global maritime activity assurance plan, including the conduct of assurance reviews of the marine activities in Group global assets, including deep sea vessel chartering, vetting, compatibility and port clearance, and deep sea vessel operations and contract management, marine terminals, and the hiring of offshore and marine construction vessels. • Designated as the Group Technical Authority for the assurance of deep sea and offshore vessels, marine terminals, drill ships, MODU’s, offshore construction vessels, and LNG vessel containment systems. • Participated as the lead marine assurance review authority of several large projects with significant maritime content including the design, procurement, and operation of LNG vessels and the development, design, construction and operation of offshore floating installations (SPM buoy, FPSO/FSO), LNG production and export terminals, and LNG receiving terminals. • Led or participated in several incident investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) of maritime-related incidents at LNG terminals and onboard LNG vessels. Based on the results of the RCA, successfully used my influencing skills to get third-party equipment providers to address design faults and third-party vessel or terminal operators to address training or other operations deficiencies to ensure the effective management of the company’s assets when needed. • Managed the development and implementation of the Group maritime activities self-assessment tool to assist and support assets in identifying gaps in their management and execution of maritime-related activities against Group requirements and industry best practice guidance to ensure the effective management of marine risk across the company.• Facilitated the development of a risk-based assurance plan based upon a quantitative risk model to improve the understanding and quantification of maritime risk across deep-sea and offshore marine activities.

• Developed and coordinated the implementation of all marine operational and technical standards and requirements related to LNG and Oil deep-sea shipping across all Group assets. • Collaborated with assets and other functions to translate and improve the existing maritime industry regulatory framework to an equivalency with corporate HSSE and asset integrity related requirements and initiatives and effectively implement these equivalent requirements across the global portfolio of marine-related activities. Developed the strategic direction for the application of HSSE performance reporting, monitoring, and benchmarking for all maritime activities (contracted and owned) across the Group and asset integrity requirements applicable to BG’s owned and chartered fleet of LNG, LPG, oil tankers, and offshore support vessels.• Facilitated the implementation of a successful personal and process safety program at a major Korean shipyard that took the yard from worst performance to best safety performance of all yards in the country within three years.• Recruited and directly managed a global team of marine operations and technical superintendents to promote, manage, and provide quality and HSSE assurance assessment services of all deep-sea vessels, offshore vessels, floating production and storage vessels, drill rigs and Modus, and LNG, LPG, oil marine terminals that are owned, controlled, and of a strategic interest to any Group asset including joint ventures.

• Oversaw numerous consulting assignments dealing with the operational, technical, and commercial aspects of LNG ships in the capacity of owners consultant, shipyard consultant, LNG cargo sellers representative and ship charterer representative.• Collected marine infrastructure design data from more than 50 LNG terminals and performed an LNG ship – LNG terminal berth compatibility study for a major Korean shipyard confirming ship design changes required to ensure berth compatibility with as many terminals as possible.• Coordinated the development of a comprehensive condition assessment and operational assurance audit checklist for LNG carriers to allow the effective assessment of the physical and operational management condition of these unique vessels.• Acted as project executive for an industry-government competitiveness improvement organization called RAM/SHIPNET which included coordinating the development and implementation of a reliability, availability and maintainability equipment failure database for the marine industry.
