The Chief technical expert is responsible to lead complex technical issues ‘end to end’ within the domain of Propellers and Waterjets.

The Propulsion Expert, Product Care ensures customer satisfaction by providing high quality and on-time product care enabled by world class competences in propulsion equipment. The goal of this job is is to provide, maintain and share top level product knowledge, technical history, operation experience, technical modifications performance development and feedback. Our customers operate worldwide in different segments on the Maritime industry such as offshore, dredging, merchant and navy. Our customers operate an installed base of 15000+ propulsion systems. The Product Care team is part of the Technical Service Propulsion organisation and operates from Drunen. Product Care is providing support to the Operational Support team, is handling all Technical Service product improvement activities and is creating all relevant Service Bulletins for all products in the Wärtsilä propulsion portfolio. The propulsion product portfolio consists of a variety of Steerable- and Transverse Thrusters, Controllable Pitch Propellers, Reduction Gears, Electric Pods, Water Jets, reduction gearboxes, rudders and advanced control systems. So quite a challenging job. :)

-Contact person for concept studies on E-pods with the companies "VTT" and "the Switch"-Contact person for concept study on hydraulic drive thrusters with TUT (Technical University Tampere)-Technical involvement and project support on the development of a new thruster range.-As project manager responsible for the completion of a product range of feathering hubs (3D models, drawing and instructions)

-Complete and maintain a standard in a range of CPP's (Controlable Pitch Propellers) and OD (oil distribution) units.-Second line support, in case of product deviation in production, and questions from classification.

Responsible for new machines for connector assembly from design idea untill SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
