The SouthWest Victoria Alliance is a group of government, industry and community representatives, all working collectively for the benefit of the entire region, traversing a large tract of south west Victoria, from Apollo Bay in the east to the South Australian border in the west. It encompasses the Shires of Colac-Otway, Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne, Southern Grampians and the City of Warrnambool. Key cities and towns include Warrnambool, Colac, Port Fairy, Camperdown, Portland and Hamilton.

The Great South Coast Regional Partnership extends from the iconic Shipwreck Coast to the South Australian border.Victoria’s nine Regional Partnerships were established by the Victorian Government in 2016 recognising that local communities are in the best position to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by their region.Through ongoing consultation, the Partnerships ensure regional communities have a greater say about what matters to them, and that the voices of these communities are heard directly at the heart of Government.Regional Partnerships engage with their communities and local stakeholders year-round to identify priorities for their regions and to develop collaborative solutions to local problems.From transport and education, to tourism, health and economic opportunities, the Regional Partnerships provide an opportunity for local communities to have their voices heard and acted on.The Partnerships provide advice directly to the Victorian Government about regional priorities so they can then be incorporated into government policies, programs and planning.Partnerships work across all government portfolios and with the three levels of government to address the often complex issues facing rural and regional communities. They build on and complement existing regional leadership and working groups and strategic planning processes.

RCV comprises the Mayors and CEOs of the 10 largest cities in regional Victoria. It is an alliance that represents the collective interest of the regions. Members work co-operatively on issues and projects of mutual interest that affect regional cities as well as the whole state of Victoria. RCV is dedicated to achieving real change in regional Victoria through policy development and active implementation of those policies.
