Be able to effectively demonstrate that knowledge and put it into practice when designing trials and talking to clients.• Data analysis: Have a good understanding of how to analyse large data sets in excel. Be able to scrutinise and verify data and find anomalous values and interpret patterns in data. • Data collection: Have a strong understanding of trials systems and data collection. Be confident in a wide variety of sampling methodologies and survey equipment. • Project management: Carefully and effectively manage projects of a range of different project scales to a budget.• Staff management: Line manager for two member of staff. Responsible for their personal development, safety, workplan and project delivery.• Sales / Business development: Be able to demonstrate experience of winning work and developing new projects.• Training: Design and carry out training programmes for staff based upon a wide variety of purposes including identification of pests and disease, sampling methodology, spraying, health and safety, datafile management. Duties included-Mark out and assist in the preparation of sites for field sampling.-Prepare, sample trials-Undertake pest, weed and disease assessments of many agricultural and horticultural crops. -Carry out site assessments and field surveys. -Collection and delivery of samples to clients.-Work independently in areas cut off from management.
