I taught a freshman research methods class for designers at Art Center. Introducing them to the concepts and methods of a variety of forms of research including secondary, primary, experiential, and design research. Students alternated between conducting research and completing studio projects influenced by their research.

I co-taught a graduate and undergraduate transdisciplinary studio class with Peter Cho and Miya Osaki. Student worked to concept online tools for youth journalist in the developing world. The class was sponsored by Art Center's Designmatters and UNICEF.Students conducted in person ethnographic design research in the Caribbean and the Philippines, developed those finding into insights into the actual needs of the youth journalists, developed concepts for online and mobile tools to support them, and conducted rapid prototyping and testing. The outcomes included prototype concepts and documentation book that were presented to UNICEF and their external partners.

Designer and researcher on this project to create interactive tools for teens with chronic medical conditions. Responsible for creation, deployment, and analysis of cultural probes, human-centered research, and planning / conducting interviews. Analysis of returns and creation of concept solutions. Final outcome was the design for an online / mobile system of personal health records and medical communication for teens with chronic conditions transitioning into adult care.The final outcome was the Audience award winner at the 2009 Health 2.0 conference.Living Profiles began as a faculty research project at Art Center College of Design before moving to Stanford's Children's Hospital. This project was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Before graduate school I worked for a variety of local newspapers in both Portland, Or and Salt Lake City, Ut. variously as an advertising, advetorial, and editorial designer.
